My huband smoked three packs a day for about 25 years and he asked for this for his 40th birthday. Within a month he was completely done smoking even with
the electronic cigarette. He has not smoked in 2 1/2 years. As far as the unregulated nicotine intake goes, it seems like a safer alternative than
continuing smoking. It's expensive, but consider how much you'll save by not smoking and this thing will pay itself off in week.

My husband quit smoking 2 weeks ago and has been using the disposable battery operated version of this. It's a lot cheaper than the rechargable one.
Purchased it at 7-11 for about $8.00 and one cigarette lasted about 10 days. I dont know if it will work long term, but it sure has taken the edge off for him
thus far. I also wonder about the unregulated nicotine intake, but it's got to be better than smoking tobacco for the lack of carcinogens alone.

My dad smoked for years. Unfortunately, he passed away 5 years ago from liver&lung cancer. Needless to say, I wish this was invented a while ago
b/c it could have helped my father quit smoking when he needed to. Will it be here to stay or fade out like some technology has done? I'm sure cigarette
producers aren't happy about this new invention and I wonder what they will do to stay in business? Lower prices? Who knows? If I was a smoker this would
certainly be my alternative to save my life.

playing the devils advocate, this cigg. isn't even approved by the FDA? Are these safe for human concumptions????
jack Schmo 2 weeks ago
Is this E cigarette as safe as they say it is? From what I understand there is nicotine in this electronic cigarette which is the addictive part of a real cigarette, right? So how does this E cigarette help quit smoking if the addictive factor is still in it?
Dana Myers 2 weeks ago
I don't understand why there is so much attention being drawn to the uncontrolled inhalation of nicotine and the potential dangers. Everyone know
that the inherent dangers of smoking actual cigarettes far outweigh anything that nicotine vapor could cause.

i urge you to see both side to this e. cigg . Yes, you want to stop smoking but technically you still are there is nicotine in the cartridges and the oral fixation is still there. Is this really an aid to benefit you ??? I don't think so .
jack Schmo 2 weeks ago
I understand your point , however there is still nicotine in these cartridges allowing the consumer to keep purchasing and not really quit. The oral fixation still happens.
jack Schmo in reply to Dana Myers (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
It is cheaper, however is it safe for human consumption?????? Not evaluated by the FDA when inhaled !
jack Schmo in reply to Susan Cleary (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
if it hasn't been tested by the FDA why in the world is it out being televised then and being sold every where? I thought things had to be approved before being put on the market?
Dana Myers in reply to jack Schmo (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
Cheaper: Yes! Safer: Yes! Where is the downside people???

I was not aware that they had a disposable version of this. I spent $150 for the rechargeable version and you still have to purchase the filters that go along with it. The disposable brand seems to be the best alternative in retrospect.
Kalex Page in reply to Susan Cleary (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
what about second hand smoke? smocking affects not only the smoker but the people around the smoker who may or may not smoke. The ecig releases water vapor but there is still nicotine in the vapor. Is this second vapor?
Trinketzilla3 2 weeks ago
I've never thought about that before. Also I know that people use this in public places where cigarette smoking is band. Because this is not actually a cigarette does that mean they are legal?
Dana Myers in reply to Trinketzilla3 (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
Although the e-cigarette is a great alternative to actual smoking: check out these harmful side affects that many people may not e aware of
Dana Myers 2 weeks ago
okay so for some reason I cannot post the link to a website on here, but you can google Prime Health Channel and the search E-Cigarettes and the harmful side affects will pop up
Dana Myers 2 weeks ago
Second Vapor? Really? My husand did not use the filters with nicotine since for him it was more about the habit and less about the addiction so his "second vapor" was strictly water vapor which is not going to hurt anyone second hand.
Kris Alex in reply to Trinketzilla3 (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
No just like regular cirgarettes, electronic cigarettes fall under the same umbrella of judgement and are not allowed to be used in public spaces.
Kris Alex in reply to Dana Myers (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
OK so I just read the side effects and while I agree that no one wants to run the risk of creating health problems unnecessarily the potential harm that can come from using the e cigarette is far less than that of smoking real cigarettes and the e cigarette is not intended for long term use. People who suffer from the niotine addiction are supposed to follow a step down method of nicotine intake by purchasing filters with lower amounts of nicotine until you are using the ones without nicotine
Kris Alex in reply to Dana Myers (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
I've seen people use them in stores and the workers just let them walk around and puff
Trinketzilla3 in reply to Dana Myers (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
This isn't intended to help people stop smoking. This is from the FQ&A from epuffer.com:
The ePuffer™ electronic cigarette is not a medical device and ePuffer™ makes no claims to help a person quit smoking, however it has helped many people who wanted to quit or cut down on tobacco product intake. Our product is unique and totally different from nicotine gums, patches or any other solutions that are available on the market today.
Trinketzilla3 in reply to Kris Alex (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
Most cigarette smokers don't want to be cigarette smokers. A lot of us have tried the patches, gums, hypnosis, books, and pharmaceuticals with no success. My failures were because I like exhaling. I like seeing the smoke. After 20 years of smoking 'analogs', it's been 3 weeks since my last purchase of Marlboro Lights because of switching to E Cigs. Whatever the side effects, at least I'm not applying a flame to 4000+ chemicals and sucking the smoke into my body. PS I can smell food again. I win.

By the way, people who try to smoke these in non-smoking places are just attention starved idiots.
Kevin Haltom in reply to Kevin Haltom (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
I agree with this statement, the e cigarette is a better solution than gum or patches because you are still satisfying both the addiction and the habit so it's a win win for someone trying to quit.
Kris Alex in reply to Trinketzilla3 (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
Good for you, keep doing it! My husband smoked 3 packs a day and he did it with the help of the e cigarette and I didn't think he would ever quit. Good luck!
Kris Alex in reply to Kevin Haltom (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
I applaud people who want to quit smoking because smoking is an addiction that can be extremely hard to quit. Just admitting to oneself that you want to quit is already a step in the right direction. I think the E-Cigarette is a great way to give people that satisfaction of knowing that they are trying to quit but still gives them the ability to feel like they are smoking when they are not.
Dana Myers 2 weeks ago
@Susan , it may seem appealing and a "healthier" alternative to smoking regular tobacco products , but according to the Respiratory Society's group of Scientists, it will cause harmful health problems in your lungs. The URL with the article of the is not allowing me to post it here.
jack Schmo in reply to Dana Myers (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
don't really think it is "safer" . There is a lot of research that has shown negative and harmful effects when the cigarette is inhaled. The Inquisiter has an article that shows it is not exactly safe.
jack Schmo in reply to Kalex Page (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago
I've read some of the research and while I agree that quitting altogether would be the healthiest alternative the fact remains that some people need that "crutch" to get them over the hump. For some it's the nicotine addiction that they just can't stop without a step down method, for others it's the physical habit that becomes so engrained in your everyday living. I still feel strongly that using the e cigarette is a safer alternative than inhaling tar, nicotine and carcinogens all day long.
